The Winter 2019 edition of the chapter newsletter - Stitch'n Times - is now available on the members page.
Even though it always seems to sneak up on us, the old chapter year is winding down and the new chapter year is gearing up.
As I sat down to write the President’s message for this newsletter, I decided to tally up the number of newsletter messages I have written. I think I concluded this is my 18th article. I found it amazing that there have been that many articles written and I am still as excited as ever to talk about my love of sewing, the American Sewing Guild, and the ASG friends I have made!
Greetings!
It was a good day! One morning I was driving near a fabric store. I didn’t really need anything but I was close and I was inspired by the Garment Group’s Sew-With-a-Plan Show and Tell. I was looking for a pattern for a top I Greetings!
It seems that spring has come early this year. We live in the heartland so we cannot be too sure that winter is truly over and the flowers will begin to bloom, but we can be sure that this is the time of year we can shake off the cabin fever and try some new things or learn some new techniques. And the chapter has some great opportunities for getting out to let your skills and imagination blossom Greetings!
The new year brings some changes to the Kansas City Chapter. Mary Spence has finished her term as chapter president. We offer our deepest thanks to Mary, a wonderful chapter president, who provided inspirational leadership to the chapter. Also we thank Mary Meyer, Publicity and Cathie Santa, Neighborhood Coordinator who are taking a break from the chapter advisory board I’m happy to inform you that all of the more recent recordings of the ASG Online Classes will now play on your IPad, tablet or smart phone. National is also in the process of converting all the earlier classes so that they too will play on these devices for your on-the-go viewing pleasure. The newest addition to the online classes is an Intermediate Series on Machine Embroidery.
ASG has an outstanding list of classes planned for the coming months so watch for new class announcements soon. We managed to keep the snow away on Saturday, November 15, and have a fun time at our Annual Meeting.
During the business meeting, the current President (Mary Spence), Secretary (Debbi Scheufler), and Treasurer (Susie Wood), all of whom were unopposed, were re-elected. Then, Betsy Blodgett of Indygo Junction – and our former Education VP – treated us to a trunk show of purses, totes, and other creative items from Indygo Junction |
