Christy Zehnder and Jill Moore Hello everyone,
I hope you are enjoying the arrival of Spring and it's glorious weather. I have a few updates about our spring events. As some of you know, the Linda Lee workshop for March had to be rescheduled because of snow issues. The new date is set for May 18th, and there are a few spaces open if anyone would like to sign up. The fee is only $25, which includes lunch and a full day of sewing! We have had a great response to the Kansas City Ballet tour, so much so, that it is now full. We may have to schedule another tour sometime, since everyone was so excited about it. We have another great event scheduled this Spring. We will be touring the Garment District Museum on Saturday June 1st at 10am, followed by lunch at the Majestic Steakhouse. Sign up by May 4th for the earlybird fee of $20, after that is $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers. The Southeastern group meeting for April is on Saturday 20th from 9 am until 2 or so at Fabric Recycles in Lee's Summit to do our community projects. We will bring our fabric to do pajamas, slippers, blankets or such. We also will be doing the 2 zipper purse for ourselves if we have time.
We are not meeting on the 17th. The Belton neighborhood group would like to announce that there is a change in our schedule. On April 16, we will not be going on the Karem Co. field trip. Instead, we will have a video day at the Cass County Library, 164 Cedar Tree, Belton, MO. This location is directly across the street from Hancock's Fabrics. We will be meeting at our regular time (10:00 till Noon) and the topic of the videos we will be viewing is sergers and serging techniques.
We would also like to announce that the May meeting will be at the home of one of our members. To get directions please call Anita Weaver (816-540-2096). We will also be sharing a potluck lunch. The pattern for the dolls will be available at our April meeting and each member is to fashion and decorate their own doll. It will be fun to see how each of us give our doll a character and personality. The dolls will be given to a local nursing home after our meeting. The Karem Co. field trip is being planned for later date. Keep watching for details. |
