Even though it always seems to sneak up on us, the old chapter year is winding down and the new chapter year is gearing up. To close out 2017, we had our Annual Meeting on Saturday, November 4th at the Brio Restaurant on the Plaza. After a lovely breakfast buffet of stuffed French toast, bacon, potatoes, and fresh fruit, the chapter business meeting was held. The annual business meeting includes a report from all of the chapter advisory board members and the election of officers. A big thank you to those who were pre-sent to cast their vote and those who sent proxy ballots for the elec-tion of officers, as we are required to have a quorum to make our election official. President, Robin Pruitt; Secretary, Debbi Conrad; and Treasurer, Donna Smoller were re-elected to serve again in 2018.
The ladies serving in the appointed positions on the board agreed to continue as well. I hope you will join me in thanking Tina Gordon, Newsletter Editor; Karin Kraft-Stuppy, Education and Events; Marilyn Barbeck, Membership; Judy Rouse, Community Service; and Jill Moore , Publicity and Website for all they have done for us in the past and their willingness to continue to work for the chapter in 2018! Following the meeting, we had a program presented by Betsy Blodgett on upcoming fashion trends. Betsy also talked about some ways she is communicating sewing news and information through podcasts and blogs. She also told us to watch for information about the Sewing Tour to London she is planning to lead. The Annual Meeting also included a discussion of what speakers and activities members would like to have the chapter sponsor in the future. If you have any ideas you would like to suggest, please contact me or any of the other CAB members. The CAB members have been working to make plans for 2018. At our December CAB meeting, we talked about some exciting events, speakers and tours coming up. As you may have seen on our recently updated website, we have scheduled Jennifer Stern-Hasemann to bring her pants workshop to Unity Village this spring. See Page 2 for more details and watch the website for your chance to sign up. The CAB and I wish you a very Happy New Year, and we hope we will see you soon at a chapter event or a neighborhood group meeting. Robin Comments are closed.
