Greetings! It seems that spring has come early this year. We live in the heartland so we cannot be too sure that winter is truly over and the flowers will begin to bloom, but we can be sure that this is the time of year we can shake off the cabin fever and try some new things or learn some new techniques. And the chapter has some great opportunities for getting out to let your skills and imagination blossom The big news this spring is our upcoming educational event! We are so pleased to be hosting Kenneth King April 15th through April 17th for three days of information and inspiration. There is still a time to sign up to learn Cool Tricks and Son of Cool Tricks on Saturday, and, Embellishments and Trim plus a session on Handbags on Sunday. You may have seen Kenneth on a video or Craftsy, but you won’t want to miss your chance to see Kenneth King in person. He is very knowable and entertaining. The Friday session is full but, the guild is offering the two-day opportunity for only $125 for member which includes lunch! Non-members are also welcome, so spread the word and sign up soon at kanascityasg.org.
The rest of the ASG year is off to good a start too. Many of the neighborhood groups have planned their meetings and you can read about the programs and activities on page 10, and on the chapter website. Remember you can attend any of the neighborhood or special interest group meetings. It has been my experience that the members are always welcoming and happy to meet another sewing friend. I had a very good time visiting the Topeka group meeting at the Sewing Workshop in February. If you haven’t been to a small group meeting recently, I hope you will take a look at what’s going on and try one I would also like to invite you to attend a Chapter Advisory Board Meeting. The CAB meets quarterly at the Bernina Sewing Center, 7251 W 97th St, Overland Park, KS. CAB meetings are open to all members. Our next CAB meeting is June 8th at 6:00. If you think you may interested in see what serving on the CAB is all about, or you would like to see what CAB meetings are like, please call me to RSVP. Wishing you a spring blooming with new opportunities Robin Pruitt Comments are closed.
