Thread Sketching Free-Motion Basics/Couching & Creating a Landscape In the first session, guild members learn cursive writing by machine, basic free-motion, straight stitching techniques, free-motion quilting techniques with different thread types, fill in stitching techniques, and an introduction to thread-sketched portraits and pen and ink tangles. The second session teaches members basic raw-edge applique, layering techniques, machine-fed/free motion couching, and creating textured fabrics. Sunday April 7, 2019 9 AM to 4 PM Event includes lunch Sulky Sew Elegant Guild members learn Twin Needle Work and Pintucks, Wing Needle Work, Cutwork & Richelieu Bars, Cutwork with Needle Lace, a Shaped Pocket, Twisted Tucks, and Embellishing with Twisted Threads. Demonstrations include hemming on knits and needle felting. A “Whatever” Corded Build A Box Attendees will create the versatile “build-a-box” project. Techniques learned include cording, print embellishment, and stabilizer use. In addition to the corded box, skills learned can be used to make placemats, mousepads, coasters, and more!
